The Pirate Code of Conduct
What follows is the strict and solemn code that each crew member must swear to.
I, __________ do solemnly swear
Rule 1
I will always obey the commands of the Captain.
Rule 2
I shall get a share of any treasure we pillage, but for every piece of gold I am given, the captain will be given two.
Rule 3
I will not steal or gamble while on board ship. If I do the Captain will take away my black powder pistols and I will not be allowed to play with the other crew members.
Rule 4
I will not strike another crew member. If I do, I shall receive 40 lashes with the whip and will be stuck in the powder magazine for a week!
Rule 5
I will not raise a weapon unless in battle, nor will I leave a lighted candle unguarded. If I do, I shall suffer pirate time out (ankle ball and chain).
Rule 6
I promise to keep my weapons clean and prepared for action or I will not receive my share of any treasure and I will be forced to clean all the weapons on board for the next month.
Rule 7
If I lose a toe or a finger in battle, I shall be given 400 pieces of eight. If I lose an arm, a leg, or an eye, I shall receive 800 pieces of eight.

Rule 8
I promise I will not take or drink any of the Captain's Rum. If I do, I shall be keelhauled.
